Job Description:
Shared Health is inviting applications for a Dental Dysplasia Director. The Dental Director is responsible for:
- Triaging all dental referrals to the Manitoba Dental Dysplasia Program to establish eligibility and approve scheduling of the patient for consultation appointments in the dental clinic;.
- Verification of diagnosis for all dental patients;
- Reviewing dental treatment plans and where appropriate, approving all predetermination requests;
- Providing consultation as required to community practitioners regarding provincial dental funding program eligibility and other questions related to dental treatment plans;.
- Reviewing and responding to all queries, regarding eligibility criteria, scheduling and program policy issues and to review Manitoba Dental Dysplasia Program guidelines on an ongoing basis, including ineligible clients.
- Participating in the recruitment of specialists, physicians, and dentists, for the composition of the Manitoba Centre for Craniofacial Difference (MCCD).
- Being available to respond to the Manitoba Dental Dysplasia Program’s staff regarding time-sensitive client issues.
- Developing & maintaining quality improvement standards
- Attending MCCD Program meetings.
- The Manitoba Dental Dysplasia Program Director, at their discretion, outside of the core duties may in collaboration with administrative leadership:
- Provide service presentations to other departments within the hospital or MCCD program.
- Give presentations to the program and to other agencies or academic institutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a member in good standing with the Manitoba Dental Association and has experience working as a dental member (e.g., pediatric dentist, oral surgeon, orthodontist, etc.) of an interdisciplinary team devoted to cleft lip and palate and craniofacial anomalies.
