The Role:
As a Dental Assistant, you are integral to our dental practice by supporting the dentist and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Your core skills in medical terminology and dental assisting are essential in preparing patients for procedures and maintaining a sterile environment. Qualifications
- Proficient in medical terminology and dental assisting techniques
- Experience with dental software such as Curve
- Knowledge of orthodontics and pediatric dental care
- Ability to perform administrative tasks, including dental receptionist duties
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and team members
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting Patients: Welcome patients as you bring them from the waiting room to the operatory, creating a warm and professional environment.
- Scheduling Appointments/follow ups: Assist in scheduling patient re-care or follow ups needed by the dentist.
- Answering Inquiries: Assist where needed and respond to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries regarding appointment availability, office policies, and general dental information with enthusiasm, professionalism and accuracy.
- Assists the dentist in providing dental treatment
- Preparing and maintaining dental instruments, supplies and equipment
- Collecting and recording patients health histories
- Patient management during dental procedures
- Instrument transfer
- Dental procedure isolation techniques
- Preparation of dental materials, cements, amalgam, composite, impression materials, etc.
- Dental charting
- Prevention and management of dental medical emergencies
- Inventory Control and management
- Replenishing ops
- Ordering items that are low before we run out: 3rd to 2nd last box of items reorder*
- Accurate lists of materials needed
- Ensuring all operatories/sterilization are fully stocked
